Missing You.

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I hope that the weather is being kinder to you where ever you are in the world than it is here!

Today I am blogging a card that I made for the children to write in and send to their Uncky Dave. Smiles.

(He’s always been Uncky. Because the children – when small – couldn’t say Uncle, so the Uncky kinda stuck! Grins.)

To start with, it was always going to be a very masculine card.  You know, deep reds and blacks and CAS and all that.

But as I started to colour something strange happened.

I picked out bright, fresh, happy colours instead.  Oops!

But I will say one thing…

I am so very GLAD that my fingers had a will of their own!!

Love, love, love the brightness of how this one turned out.

I seem to have a thing for pinks, greens & yellows right now.

But hey – the weather is awful and we all need a little brightness in our days don’t we?

I’m sure Uncky Dave will love his bright (not too masculine) card too!  Tee hee.

The fabulous image is called Call Me Sugar from That Craft Place and is simply perfect for what I wanted to create.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Those amazing scrabble letter tiles? They’re from That Craft Place too!

I 3D’d them with Collal Glue to really make them POP over that frame. Smiles.

To bring Call Me Sugar to life, I used my Copics and my Copic Spica Glitter pens in these shades:-

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Clothes and extras on the telephone.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Main body of telephone.  (The Spicas are  Buttermilk & Gold.)

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Hair.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Skin Tones.

Sorry I went dark with this image – but getting the magnificent sparkle to show is never simple is it?

And if you know me at all, you’ll know that the sparkle is the most important ingredient!  Oh yes!

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

To create my card, I cut my Centura Pearlescent to measure a six inch square.

Then I embossed a nice square frame a half inch around on the front.

Then I embossed a much thinner margin using the opposite side of my Hougie board.

Next I took my (very sharp) Swan Morten craft knife and cut the inner embossed square.

The Neenah card the image is printed on is stuck to the inside of the frame, and the whole card is finished with some lovely, luxurious parchment on the inside.

But what steals the show for me, are those fabulous Scrabble Letters that I arranged and cut out to spell “We Miss You!”.

The challenges I would really like to enter into with my creation are:-

1. That Craft Place – Easter/Spring.

2. Through The Purple Haze – Anything Goes.

3.  Stamp and Create – Is It Spring Yet?

4.  The Outlawz – CAS on Sunday – The Sentiment Steals The Show.

5. Whoopsi Daisy – Add A Sentiment.

Thank you so very much for stopping by today!

Spring Flowers!

Good afternoon everyone!

Apparently it’s spring today (yes in the UK we put our clocks forward at the weekend) and really the weather is so unspring-like today!

So I have decided that another Easter/Spring theme card is called for, and what better image to use than this gorgeously cheerful girl right here? Smiles.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

She is called Wasabi and you can find her in the lovely Little Miss Muffet store.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

I cut my card base from my White Linen card stock, then I embossed the frame and diagonal lines using my Hougie Embossing Board.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

I hand cut scraps of my favourite card to decorate the top and bottom of the card front.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Then I added my lovely little dragonfly metal charms to finish.  Smiles.

The copics I used to bring the image to life are:-

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Dress.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Bow.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Shoes.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Hair.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Skin Tones.

Beautiful Lotus.

Hello Everyone!

Happy Sunday to you all. Smiles.

We are nice and chilled in our house, and looking forward to the next two weeks of .. well.. doing not much at all really. Tee hee.

I just adore the school holidays and having the children home with me.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

I even got to colour yesterday while my six year old coloured next to me.  Sweet!

My card I’m blogging today was created using one of the brand new Geisha images from Simply Betty Stamps.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

This one is called Lotus Geisha and you can find her here.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

To bring her to life I used my Copics in the following shades:-

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Clothes and Flowers.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Hair Sticks.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Hair.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Lips.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Pale skin tones.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

That gorgeous ribbon is almost all gone now, I love it so much too!

The bow is hand tied and decorated with one of my adhesive diamantes.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

As are the corners on my card front.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

My papers are from my paper pad which I have had for quite some time now.

I love the sentiment which comes with this image too.  Just so nice!

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

It’s a sentiment designed to make you smile isn’t it?xx

Thank you so much for stopping by today.
