Christmas @ The Outlawz!

Good morning everyone and a very happy Friday to you all!

Today is a brand new Friday Colouring Challenge over at The Outlawz.

And it is my turn to host with an Anything Goes/Optional Twist of Christmas theme.

I have to say it does feel strange making Christmas cards when our May weather is still hinting at the summer to come.. Grins.

Our sponsor is Sweet Pea Stamps for the month of May and I chose to play with this one….  I figured this one would make an elegant kind of Chrismas card.. Smiles.

My paper is an old one from Bearly Mine Designs which I have always loved.

And those snowflakes are plain card ones which I covered in PVA and then dipped into my glitter pot.

I do hope that you will come and join in with our Anything Goes/Twist of Christmas challenge this week.

We always love to see what creations everyone comes up with. Smiles.

The challenges I am entering into with my Christmas card are:-

1. Crimbo Crackers – Anything Goes.

2. ABC Christmas Challenge – K is for Keep It Simple.

3. Christmas At Sweet Stampin – Cute Christmas.

Shabby Chic Hatter

Good afternoon everyone!
I hope that your Week is a good one so far!

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

I think – after my very first attempt at a  Shabby Chic card the other day – I have been bitten by the Shabby Chic/Vintage bug.

Especially after seeing these gorgeous new papers from Pion Designs. Grins.

Aren’t they just so very beautiful?!

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

They are called Paris Flea Market and I got mine from Dies to Die For.. (Enabler alert here.. they deliver world wide! Grins.)

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

My beautiful image is a stamp from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and she is called Emily Rose Hatter.

To bring her to life I used my Copics in the following shades:-

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Hat.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Dress and Grounding.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Ribbon, Bag & Shoes.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Hair.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Skin.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

To mount my picture “into” the artwork on the paper behind, this is what I did.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

I position my image where I wanted it to sit, then I place pencil marks the side edge and bottom.

Then again at the top and side edge. Like so.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Then I took my craft knife and cut around the image within the marked area.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

And again at the top.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Then I mounted my image using wet glue so I had time to position it.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

The cream doily, flowers …

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

… & pearls are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

My image is cut using my Stitched Rectangle Die set by DIEzyne Dies available from CC Designs.

To finish I edged everything, including my card base (made from 2 sheets of A4 Cream Hammer Card) with my Frayed Burlap Distress ink by Tim Holtz.

The challenge I am entering into with my Shabby Chic card are:-

1. Little Miss Muffet Challenge Blog – Anything Goes.

2. Craft Your Passion – Always Anything Goes.

3. A Vintage Journey – Spring Colours.

4. Polka Doodles – Girly But No Pink.
