Star Teacher!!

Good afternoon everyone!

It is very wet and cold here today – you would never know we’re 8 whole days into July already! Sighs.

But! Looking on the bright side! It’s perfect weather for staying home and colouring! Smiles.

I have made this one for my little girl’s teacher. I did one already, but she has two teacher’s throughout the week, not one. So I decided (as there are just two weeks of school left) that I had better make another one. Grins.

This beautiful image from Little Miss Muffet Stamps is just perfect for what I wanted!

She is called Jnr Hatter Vivianne and you can find her in the LMMS Store.

To bring her to life I used my Copics in these shades:-

Hair.

Hat.

(I used the Colourless Blender to add a fluffy kind of texture to her hat.)

Piece of Paper.

Shoes.

Shorts.

Skin Tones.

Tee Shirt, Heart & Button.

My design paper is from my Do Crafts Papermania Pad – and the pad is called Happy Days.

Dies used are:-

Picket Fence Die by Cottage Cuts.

Heart Doily Die by Whimsy Stamps.

Labels Seventeen by Spellbinders.

All of my embellishments are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I made this flower clip myself, using one of my W.O.C. flowers and a large paper clip.

I adore how it looks! Smiles.

My gorgeous star embossed card I got from That Craft Place.

It is so thick and luxurious and I love it! I’m just looking for excuses to use it!   Tee hee.

My First Attempt At Distress Colouring!

Hello! Hello! Hello!

Happy Friday to you all!!

Today is special.. it’s my son’s 9th Birthday.. I cannot believe how quickly time is passing.

Do you remember when your parents or grand parents used to tell you that time goes quicker the older you get?  Hmmm… I used to chuckle each time I heard that.. But I swear to it is all true.  Grins.

Today’s card is my latest DT creation for the Friday Colouring Group over at The Outlawz.

Our theme this week is a very patriotic Red, White & Blue.

So I chose to use this image which I had already coloured, it is my first ever attempt at watercolouring with Distress Inks and I am so very over the moon with it! Smiles.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

I messed up massively when I used the Soot Black, but you know, I never would have imagined my first try would turn out quite so pretty. Grins.

The image I used is Marci In Wonderland from La La Land Crafts.

To bring her to life I used the following Tim Holtz Distress Markers:-

Skin – Vintage Photo. Tattered Rose.

Cheeks/Blush – Aged Mahogany.

Hair – Walnut Stain.  Antique Linen.

Clothes and Shoes – Weathered Wood. Black Soot.

Background – Weathered Wood.

To finish I added white frantage embossing powder around my image, on top of the background inking.

My flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts.

The image is cut out using my Spellbinders labels 7 Die.

And my delicious die cuts there are from three of  my Marianne Design Creatables die sets I have.

(To tell the truth, I have had them for a couple of years, and this is actually the first time I have used them.  Yes – I will be using them a lot more often from now on. Grins.)

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

My papers are my nautical ones from a rather old Maja Designs paper pad.

The gem and star paper clip are from my crafty stash.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

The ribbon used for my hand tied bow is also from my stash.

If you have never tried Distress Inks and would like to give it a go… The class I would thoroughly recommend to you is Tracy Payne’s Distress Ink Class on Kit and Clowder.

Honestly everyone, I cannot stress enough how completely fabulous it is! Smiles.

The challenges I would really love to enter into with my very first attempt at Distress colouring are:-

1.  Marianne’s Design Divas – Flowers.

3.  Sparkles – Vintage/Shabby Chic.

4.  C.R.A.F.T. – Embossing.
