A Circle Card Tutorial For You All.

Hello everyone and a very happy Tuesday to you all.

It’s actually Monday evening while I’m putting this post together, and oh boy am I praying that tomorrow finds me feeling better.

I have had pretty much a non day, trying to rest up and get rid of this flu/cold/whatever bug that has taken a hold of me. I woke with it this morning and I do not want to wake with it tomorrow.

(Said in a very determined voice here. Tee hee.)

My card for you today has been made using a rather sweet image from Crafty Sentiments Designs.

Front

We have a brand new challenge starting over on the challenge blog, and the theme is Any Shape. So I thought I would revisit an old tutorial from my old blog (which is unavailable now.)

Side L

My base card is white hammer 300gsm card stock, and my pink layer card is Core-Dinations card stock.

The design paper is Floral Pavillion from 1st Edition.

And my beautiful, beautiful embellishments are from Live & Love Crafts.  (Because I figured this lovely image deserved the best. Smiles.)

Okay.  Onto the tutorial for you.  I have tried to keep it as quick and simple as possible for you.  Any feedback and/or questions are welcome.

Step 1.

Step 1 Colour and Frame Image

Colour your image and frame it. (I have used my stitched rectangle dies from By DIEZyne. Originally purchased from Dies To Die For.)

Step 2.

Step 2 Cut Circles

Cut 3 circles.  One large in your base card. One middle sized in your layer card. And one smallest size in your design paper.

(I have used large circle dies from Spellbinders.)

Step 3.

Step 3 Draw Line

Cut 3 circles.  One large in your base card. One middle sized in your layer card. And one smallest size in your design paper.

(I have used large circle dies from Spellbinders.)

Step 3.

Draw a very faint pencil line @ 4.5 inches from the left edge.

Step 4.

To the right of the line (pictured above) you need to make horizontal lines at these points, start from the bottom and work your way to the top:-

1.5 inches. Then 1/2 an inch above your 1st line.

Then 1 inch above your 2nd line.

Then 1/4 inch above your 3rd line.

Then 3/4 of an inch above your 4th line.

Step 5.

Step 5 Cut between 1st and last lines

Now you need to make a cut (along the vertical line) between your 1st and last lines. (As in the picture above.)

Step 6.

Step 6 Gently fold for centre line

Now very gently fold your circle in half.

Flatten back out and score each of your short (horizontal) lines.

Step 7.

Step 7 Score and fold starting at bottom

Now, carefully fold your score lines in mountain and valley folds as shown above.

Your 1st line is a mountain, your 2nd a valley and so on and so forth.

Step 8.

Step 8 Fold card flat see the rough edge

Now fold your card in half. See those excess bits? We’re going to cut them off.

Step 9 cut away rough edge

Like So.

Step 10 now ready to decorate

So now we are left with two perfect edges. (Honestly they are. The steps have made mine look shorter. Grins.)

And now it is time to decorate! Yay!
