A Distressed Heart.

Hey everyone!

I hope you are having a lovely Sunday, and that your weekend has been a good one so far.

Today I am showing you a very lovely image from Sweet Escape Digis.

She is free, as part of the Kit & Clowder Facebook Challenge which runs until 6th February.

To bring this one to life, I decided to go wayyyy out of my comfort zone and use Distress Inks.

I’m moderately happy with how she turned out. I definitely need to practice more, but hey it’s fun so I don’t mind that at all! Smiles.

If you’re wanting to start with Distress Inks but  not sure where to begin, then click here and take a look at Tracy Payne’s fabulous Class available at Kit & Clowder.

The Distress Ink Colours I used are:-

Skin – Vintage Photo & Worn Lipstick for blush.

Hair – Walnut Stain &  Antique Linen.

Dress – Stormy Sky & Black Soot.

Heart – Fired Brick.

I created the pink/blue background with my chalks.

And the stitched oval which frames her, I created with my By DIEZyne Stitched Ovals. Which used to be available from Dies To Die For.

The corners and fan were created using my Signature Dies from Joanna Sheen (which is where the scallop card base comes from too.)

And Blue Stickles to add sparkle.

The flowers are hand rolled, and created with my Marianne Design LR0162 Flower & Leaf die set. Also available at Dies To Die For.

The princess paper and the sentiment square (with added Blue Stickles) are both from my Simple Stories – Enchanted paper pad.

The pale pink matting is from my Core – Dinations (Distressed) card pack.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Hugs & Happy Crafting Everyone!

Awww Poor Slicker Guy!

Don’t you just feel so sorry for Mustache Slicker Guy?

He is wet. He is muddy. Look at his flushed cheeks! I personally think he just wants to get home and be nice and cosy. Tee hee.

To bring Mustache Guy Slicker (from Little Miss Muffet Stamps) to life I used my Distress Markers in these colours:-

Skin – Vintage Photo.  Tattered Rose.

Cheeks – Aged Mahogany.

Slicker & Hat, Wellingtons & Umbrella – Peacock Feathers. Pumice Stone.

Muddy Puddle & Mud Splashes – Gathered Twigs.

The string is from my crafty cupboard, and the cloud dies are Lawn Fawn.

The sentiment is handwritten with White Uniball Pen.

That lil birdie charm is recycled from a candle decoration.  I think he is just perfect for this card. Smiles.

I’ve had this thing going on since the New Year whereby I make a LOT more male cards, but I realised the other day that I don’t have general male cards.. only birthday.

So now my next mission is more variation in my male themed cards.. either that or to create cards that can used for anything.

The first installment of my mission is this Get Well card. Grins.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Hugs & Happy Crafting Everyone.

Good morning everyone how are you all today?

Today is the start of a brand new challenge over on the Friday Colouring group at the Outlawz.

Our theme this week is a colour one – and here the inspirational picture for everyone to follow along with.

Gorgeous colour aren’t they?!

This week I chose to play along with one of my newest stamps and dies sets from La La Land Crafts.

This sweet little Marci is from the La La Land crafts May Club Kit. Isn’t she just adorable?!

To bring her to life I used my Distress Markers in these shades:-

Skin – Vintage Photo.  Tattered Rose.  Aged Mahogany.

Hair – Antique Linen.  Walnut Stain.

Hat – Broken China.  Aged Mahogany.

Dress – Aged Mahogany.

Shoes – Walnut Stain.  Aged Mahogany.  Shabby Shutters.

(The pearls I coloured in with one of my Pink Copic Markers.)

The stitched rectangles are my By DIEZyne Dies from CC Designs.

And those gorgeous balloon dies are from the La La Land Crafts June Club Kit.  As it the number 7 die cut and stitched circle too.

The die cut “Celebrate You” is also from the June Club Kit. This was truly an amazing kit and I can see it being used a lot! Smiles.

My paper is from my Echo Park Here & Now paper pad, and the layer card & card base are from my stash.

The sparkle on the balloons is from my Irridescent Glitter Spray.

The challenges I would love to enter into with my card are:-

1.  ABC Challenge – N is for Number.

2.  The Craft Garden – Colour Theme.

3.  In The Pink – Floral.

4.  Art Impressions Stamps – In With The New.

It’s just an all round happy colour.)
