Oh Messy Elf!

Hello everyone and a very happy Wednesday to you all! Only two more sleep until Friday people!! Tee hee.

Today I got a chance to get very, very, very messy indeed. And oh my gosh I loved every single minute of it!

I tried ink splats!! Smiles..

And no I didn’t use Re-Inkers or Copic Refills .. I thought I would push my boundaries a little more, and try out my Spectrum Noir Glitter Pens!

I squeezed and I shook! I squeezed and I shook! Simples!

Sparkle

Oh my! If you could SEE the SPARKLE on this card in real life! I LOVE it!!

And, quite by accident, I decided to go with kitchen towel as my background. (It has made the most amazing “design paper” too!)

I had this sheet of paper towel on stand by in case I made the most incredible mess (which I did) and I got an ink splat on it in blue. I loved how it looked so much I proceeded to add more blue and then red glitter pen too. I folded it around a piece of card cut to size, and then glued it in place.

The fabulous image is called Elvette Sitting (from the awesome Santa’s Christmas Elves set) over at Make It Crafty!

To bring her to life I used my Copics in these shades:-

Reds

White Shading

White Shadow.

Holly

SKin

My sentiment I stamped using my new Lawn Fawn Winter Penguin Stamp -available from Dies To Die For, and my Memento Black Ink.  (The fancy swirl was a pre-cut free gift from Dies To Die For.)

The curved & frilly borders I created using my Spellbinders Curved Borders One Die Set.

Flat 2

The red card is from my Core-Dinations All In The Family card pack.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

And I hope that you can forgive me all of these early Christmas cards too! Grins.

Hugs & Happy Crafting Everyone!

I just got one of the clear glitter pens and they do indeed have quite the shimmer. Using them to make a background with a paper towel was inspired and resulted in a fantastic card. Thanks for sharing it at ATSM this wee.
