Good morning everyone, I hope that you have sunshine wherever you are.
I must warn you that this is a sad post, so you need to choose whether or not to read on.
(The free pattern for the tiny angel hat is at the bottom of this post.)
Over the weekend, I posted on Instagram and Facebook, because I came across a post from Laura of @little_crochet_makes and I just had to get involved myself.
Her post was about a non profit organisation, run by Lucy of @uponbutterflywings.
Lucy donates keepsakes and garments to hospitals and funeral directors, etc, for babies born sleeping (8-34 weeks.) This is something which is very close to my heart and I wanted to create something myself.
Laura @little_crochet_makes very kindly shared her own pattern for these tiny little gowns.
And these are my first two, made from her pattern.
You can find the link to the pattern and the Upon Butterfly Wings website by clicking onto @little_crochet_makes bio.
There are lots of links for sizes and preferable colours, as well as other patterns on the Upon Butterfly Wings website.
You can also find Upon Butterfly Wings on Facebook too. They accept knitted and crocheted items. And currently they have a fundraiser happening. So if you would like to help, please visit the website or FB page for more information.
Once I had completed these tiny dresses (22 – 24 weeks gestation) I wanted to give them matching hats. So I put together this very quick and easy pattern for anyone to use.
Made with a 3mm crochet hook, and a DK weight yarn these will fit a baby born between 22 to 24 weeks of pregnancy.
I have written the hat pattern out on this post, but I have also added it to Ravelry as a PDF, so that you can save it, and come back to it more easily.
On Ravelry you will get both a UK and a US version of the pattern on your PDF download.
